A third of business founders (31%) surveyed as part of the study point to e-commerce as the most popular area for launching new projects. Another 27% of respondents named IT, 12% of respondents indicated finance and blockchain.

Among other industries, respondents highlighted the real estate sector and development (10%), tourism and the food industry (7% each). Respondents also see the energy and ecology sectors as promising.

What are the advantages of the most popular destinations?

  • According to entrepreneurs, E-com has few barriers to entry to start a business. Projects do not need to rent premises or hire vendors.
  • 49% of IT startup founders surveyed identified high potential for business growth and scaling. 14% highlighted the high demand for products/services in this area, and 12% highlighted the flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to market changes.
  • The founders of the project cite as the main advantage the greater demand for solutions and services in this segment (20%), the study participants also highlighted a high growth potential (15%) and the ability to attract the attention of investors and investment funds. risk (12%).

How much money did entrepreneurs invest in their projects in 2023?

Almost a quarter of respondents (24%) invested in the development of their startup from 600 thousand rubles to 1 million rubles. 22% invested 2-3 million rubles, 15% invested 4-5 million rubles. At the same time, 18% of respondents invested 100-200 thousand rubles.

The key problem for the majority of respondents (68% in the electronic communications sector and 41% in the IT sector) is the shortage of qualified personnel.

For e-commerce startups, issues also included lack of available funding and investment (18%). Blockchain startups noted the problem of limited opportunities to scale their businesses due to lack of resources (27%) and high level of competition in the market (21%).

What do entrepreneurs expect in the next three years?

Approximately half of the respondents (41%) expect a gradual development of their projects with moderate growth. The fifth part was called establishing a sustainable positioning in the market. At the same time, 14% of respondents announced plans to close the project.
