Microsoft has told employees in China that starting in September they will be able to use their iPhones only for work, and will have to give up their Android devices.
The measure is part of Microsoft’s Secure Future counterterrorism initiatives, which impact hundreds of workers across mainland China and calls for them to all use the Microsoft Authenticator password manager and Identity Pass app.
Google Play, unlike iOS, is not available in China, so local smartphone makers have created gadgets for their own stores and services instead of Google. This is the reason why Microsoft decided to abandon Android gadgets.
