Recently, the A18 Pro was known to have significantly improved single-core performance, but multi-core performance only shows a 10% increase.
And here two competitors appear on the scene: Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Dimensity 9400, which, according to tests, beat the A18 Pro in multi-core mode.
According to insider information, the A18 Pro scores around 8,200 points in the Geekbench multi-core test, while Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Dimensity 9400 reach 10,628 and 11,739 points, respectively.
This is a significant difference and could mean that the next generation of flagship Android smartphones will have higher performance than the iPhone 16 Pro.
In the single-core test, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 also beats the A18 Pro, scoring 3500 points against 3300. This is a significant jump over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which had a Geekbench single-core score of around 2200.
Dimensity 9400 also has a 20% performance increase over Dimensity 9300 in both single-core and multi-core modes.
However, it should not be forgotten that all these chips are still under development and will not be released until the end of 2024. Apple, Qualcomm and MediaTek still have time to make changes and optimizations.
