The Nothing Phone 2a comes with various stickers, a branded case, and a Type-C cable. Even though the body of the new product is made entirely of plastic, it looks like glass.

The first impression is spoiled by the fact that the smartphone is equipped with a MediaTek processor. The Nothing Phone 2a’s screen has an AMOLED matrix, a 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR 10+ support and a brightness of up to 1300 nits (actually 1200 lux). PWM indicators are not the best, but they cannot be called bad either.

The fingerprint scanner of the new product does not respond instantly, but it is quite sensitive. Outside the box, the screen already has a protective film.

The most controversial part of the new Nothing Phone 2a is the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro processor. It is very “average” in itself, and the manufacturer itself hints that the Nothing Phone 2 version is much better than 2a. The new system works fast, but you may run out of power while playing games, using the camera and Yandex Go application.

Glyphs on the back panel can be configured to trigger notifications. Also, the backlight will remain on until you unlock your smartphone and see what you have received.

The capacity of the battery is 5000 mAh. With this, you will get 6-7 hours of screen work. Generally this is enough for one day. Charging power 45 W. The device charges up to 100% in 1 hour. There is no wireless charging support.

Nothing Phone 2a has two modules on the back panel: both 50 MP. This is the ultra-wide and main camera. Although the details are a bit disappointing, overall the smartphone takes good photos. You can record video at a maximum speed of 4K 30 fps. But the problem is that it takes too long to process each photo due to the weak processor. The phone often freezes if you take photos repeatedly. The front lens has a resolution of 32 MP.

If gaming isn’t important to you, you don’t use the cameras often, and you don’t need wireless charging, the Nothing Phone 2a will be one of the best mid-budget smartphones for you. It would also make sense to buy it for those who want to upgrade from Nothing Phone 1.
