This funding will complement Samsung’s existing commitments. In 2021, the company announced a $17 billion project in Taylor, Texas. Additional funds will be used to further expand production. Specific details regarding the location of the new businesses have not yet been announced.
This agreement is a preliminary agreement and may change. An official announcement is expected to be made in the coming weeks that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) may also receive a $5 billion grant.
