I’ve spent a lot of time over the last few days looking at detailed price predictions for the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro and Nintendo Switch successor. The more I hear arguments about the high price, the more I remember the reality. expensive console.

Most of you are not even aware of their existence, but collectors dream of getting each of these Rarary items.

Below we have collected the rarest, most expensive and simply very beautiful version of different consoles. Some of them can no longer be purchased, while other copies of the site can still be found in foreign countries.

First show you consoles with historical value, almost museum pieces. Many of these consoles are no longer in production, exist in a single copy and have a good history of their production.

1. Sega Dreamcast autographed by Limp Bizkit singer

The last known cost is $1,000.

To be honest, it came as a surprise to me that SEGA once sponsored a world tour of famous nu-metal musicians.

Of course, they couldn’t do without advertising their latest game console: in addition to selling the regular Dreamcast, at the concerts you could see a console with the personal autograph of Freda Durst, the vocalist of Limp Bizkit.

It is known that a total of 25 such consoles were produced, and the last one left the counter sometime in 2017. Now in a private collection.

2. Pip-box version for Xbox One

Last known cost: $1,700.

This piece doesn’t have much history, but it looks really cool, doesn’t it? However, there is one interesting point: the console was released before the merger of Bethesda and Microsoft.

This is currently the rarest version of the Xbox One, as only 15 of these consoles were released.

3. Sony PlayStation Jordan Grand Prix Edition

Last known cost: $1,800.

There are many different variations of the first model. curling irons, from funky colorways to developer previews. However, this particular option is considered one of the rarest in the world.

A total of 30 yellow consoles were produced, which were not intended for sale. They were raffled off ahead of the release of Formula 1 ’97, and are confirmed by a print on the roof of the console.

During the entire period of sale on eBay, only two copies of this model were noticed. At the moment it is impossible to buy this console.

4. Nintendo DSi from McDonald’s

Last known cost: $3,500.

Visually, this Nintendo DSi is no different from the regular version intended for sale. Except for one fact – it has a unique logo and purpose. This laptop was released exclusively in Japan and was used exclusively for training McDonald’s employees.

A special cartridge was also developed for this purpose. For a long time, the console was considered lost; there is not even information about how it fell into the hands of those who put it up on eBay in 2020.

At the moment, we definitely know about two copies complete with the cartridge itself. They are in the hands of Western blogger Nick Robinson.

5. Panzer Dragoon Original Edition for Xbox

For many, the existence of the very first Xbox is basically erased from memory, especially due to the attitude of the United States. But Microsoft is not just thinking of breaking into the next generation console race, but also, being a purely American company, is very fond of the Japanese audience.

One of the ways was the release of the most beautiful Xbox Original, which was exclusively presented on the eastern market. The game Panzer Dragoon Orta was dedicated to him, and its main distinguishing feature was its white body.

Unfortunately, I was unable to find an exact digital edition, but this version is considered the most popular Xbox at the moment, and the only known auction price is around $4,000.

6. Xbox Original personally signed by Bill Gates

The last known cost is $5,000.

But there are two phones in the world specifically of such consoles. Partner Edition was intended for the participation of companies involved in the development and promotion of the first Xbox.

In this version, on the lid, in addition to the name, there is the signature of Bill Gates “Thank you for your cooperation!» Second version, 2001. The launch of Team Edition was given to the best employees of Microsoft’s internal gaming division. There is also a caption “Great job!” Imagine how nice it must have been to receive them.

7. Commercial version of Sony PSP 2000 Stella Artos

This PSP variation is officially considered the rarest in the world. There are practically no photos of this portable console online (except for the promo photo above), no official information about her is contained in the notes from 2007-2008 and later simply does not appear. Further mentions of the Sony PSP 2000 Stella Artos Commercial Version on the Internet exist only within the framework of speculation, and there are almost none in Russian.

This limited console was produced in quantities of only 50 copies and handed over to the employees of the plant where Stella Artois beer was produced. In addition to the modified engraving and case, this console stood out for its content. It was already pre-loaded with several documentaries about the company’s history and themed wallpapers.

According to rumors, one such console was sold to a private collection for a very high price of 13 thousand dollars, but this transaction took place entirely in an offline format.

But from the fantastic prices and semi-mythical old consoles let’s move on to something more mundane.

Modern consoles have quite a few beautiful limited editions – sometimes for a lot of money, and sometimes not for sale at all. We’ll talk about them further.

8. Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch Edition

Let’s start with Nintendo Switch. Over the 7 year lifespan of the console, it came out with many limited colorways, all of which were cool, beautiful, but lacked any story value.

Most of them can now be bought even in Russia on sites like Avito or the GBX.ru forum. The most beautiful, in my humble opinion, is, of course, the limit in the Animal Crossing game. Pastel and soft colors really suit Nintendo’s philosophy.

9. Xbox Series X in the style of Final Fantasy 14.

Company Microsoft not only catches up, but also surpasses its competitors in the number of exclusive options for the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles.

They come out rarely, almost every month, but with a nuance: almost all of them do not go on sale, but are raffled off on social networks and, as a rule, regulate the release of popular films or games. And there is a limit on the amount that they should devote to a separate large material.

One of the recent promotions is a unique Xbox Series X in the style of Final Fantasy 14. This is an incredibly beautiful console that was intended solely as an art object, and it cannot be played. But the gamepad is quite working. And it is not for sale either; it could only be won in a competition.

10. Gold PlayStation 4 for a million rubles.
