A platform for storing cryptocurrencies confiscated in criminal cases may appear in Russia. Izvestia writes about this.

At the moment, cryptocurrencies confiscated as part of investigations are mainly confiscated in physical media. If a digital platform appears, funds will flow to it.

According to the publication, the initiative to create the platform was taken by the Ministry of Finance. At the same time, it is the Ministry of Finance that has the task of working on the issue of creating a platform. The first information on the work carried out should be known before October 1, 2024.

The legislative status of cryptocurrencies in Russia has not yet been determined, but they are confiscated as property as a result of court decisions.
