A study published today by Professor Rajendra Gupta suggests that the Universe may not need dark matter at all. The prevailing theory is that dark matter makes up about 27% of the universe, while ordinary matter makes up only 5%.

The Gupta model, a combination of covariance coupling constants (CCCs) and tired light theory (FL), offers an alternative explanation. This suggests that the force of gravity weakens at great distances in space, and that light loses energy on long journeys.

This model is consistent with existing observations such as the distribution of galaxies and the evolution of light in the early universe. It eliminates the need for dark matter and still explains these events.

“Our previous work to determine the age of the Universe, combined with this new study, suggests that the Universe does not need dark matter,” explains Gupta. It suggests that the accelerated expansion of the universe, often attributed to dark energy, is due to the weakening of gravitational forces.
