The average income of self-employed people in Russia is 41.9 thousand rubles. In Moscow and the Moscow region it is slightly higher – 57.6 thousand rubles, and in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region it is lower – 38.1 thousand rubles. Repair turned out to be the most popular part-time freelance job: 16% of respondents do it. The list also included tutoring (11%), programming and design (10% each), legal services (8%), taxi services, writing, marketing and public relations (7% each).

To save for long-term goals, including retirement, self-employed people use a variety of tools. A quarter choose a bank account, 11% hold cash savings or invest, 8% save using non-state pension fund products and 3% save using insurance products. Another 46% of respondents are not yet saving money.

More than 3.6 thousand Rabota.ru users over 18 years old from all regions of Russia took part in the survey. The study was carried out in March 2024.
