Family groups are a new user area that allows the account holder to add 5 more people to their “family”; this allows them to play simultaneously and access the titles of other participants, even if they are included in the game. However, in order to play a game at the same time, you must have two copies of the product in your library.
For this purpose, a common library will be created, placed in a separate subsection within the family group.
You can leave the group at any time, but only after one year to create your own or join another group. In addition, it will be possible to provide a vacant place for someone in the group only after a year.
Steam Family Groups appeared in the beta version of the service on March 18, but it is not yet known when the release will be available to all users.
