Nine aircraft are planned to be reorganized: 12 seats in business class will be replaced by 25 in economy class. More than 331 million rubles will be spent to increase capacity.

The work will last from the end of September 2024 to mid-April 2025. The schedule is planned based on the maintenance schedule after the peak air travel season.

To do this, they will use components from defective Rossiya Superjet aircraft, donor aircraft and warehouse stocks of Yakovlev PJSC (manufacturer of the SSJ-100). The materials note that Rossiya has six of the 61 SSJ-100s stored in a two-class configuration (12 seats in business class and 75 in economy class). The airline’s fleet also includes 17 Superjets in 100-seat economy class.

The rationale for the investment project states that Rossiya currently lacks 100-seat Superjet aircraft, which are relevant on many airline flights, especially on tourist and sightseeing routes, “when passengers are not willing to overpay for business class” , and it is difficult Transporting 100 people in economy class is cheaper than 75 passengers in economy class and several more in business class.

These changes will increase the cargo capacity of the Rossiya SSJ-100 fleet, as well as generate additional income from the sale of economy seats by more than 300 million rubles per year, the document emphasizes. Its recovery period is 2.6 years.
