Theoretically, it is possible to connect the dishwasher to hot water. So does this make sense?
Cold water in the dishwasher heats to 50-65 degrees Celsius. Therefore, if you decide to connect the device to hot water, be guided by these temperature indicators.
This is the advantage of running the washing machine directly with hot water.
Reducing electricity and chemical costs. Therefore, you can immediately set the water softening program to “0”.
Using the declared temperature indicators of programs. Many European dishwasher manufacturers reduce temperatures to save electricity.
Elimination of thermal shock. This applies to washing glass, ceramic and porcelain dishes.
However, connecting the dishwasher to hot water also has some disadvantages.
Deformation of plastic pipes and drain hose. This occurs when the coolant heats up to a temperature above 65 degrees Celsius.
Accumulation of mechanical deposits and suspensions. This causes the washing quality to decrease. Flow filters are used to reduce the negative impact. However, when hot water is used, its elements will need to be replaced more frequently.
Deterioration in washing quality. Due to the hot water during rinsing, food residues may stick to the dishes.
Deterioration in drying quality, increase in drying time. This is because there is no temperature difference between the heat exchanger and the (hot) water.
Another disadvantage is the increased cost of hot water.
