The United States Department of Justice and authorities in 16 American states filed a lawsuit against Apple for numerous violations of antitrust laws. This is stated in a statement from the United States Department of Justice.
The plaintiffs accuse Apple of monopolizing the smartphone market. In particular, the company prevents useful applications from entering the market in terms of functionality and prevents the creation of cross-platform payment applications.
In addition, the claims against Apple are related to the blocking of cloud services, which help to access other cloud applications without additional costs for smartphone equipment.
The US Department of Justice is suing Apple for violating antitrust laws for the third time in the last 14 years. In 2012, Apple was ordered to pay $450 million in compensation in a lawsuit over rising prices for digital books.
