For example, it may simply state that a “non-original part” was found, without stating whether it was actually faulty. This may be because testing of original parts is prioritized in warranty repairs.

iFixit agrees that Apple’s tool meets the basic requirements of right-to-repair laws like California’s. However, according to them, Apple can offer more comprehensive user support.
