The Russian company AvtoVAZ has submitted an application to Rospatent to register eight new trademarks. TASS writes about this.

The application includes the names Altra, Astera, Azimut, Gravis, Merida, Retiva, Tarusa and XTour. The company’s press service noted that these names could be used to designate future car models and did not reveal which of them exactly will be used.

Currently, AvtoVAZ produces cars under the brands Granta, Vesta, Niva, and in the near future production of Largus, Aura and Iskra will begin.

Previously, a subsidiary of AvtoVAZ applied to Rospatent to register a trademark similar to the Hyundai logo, and in February the company received a patent for the design of the new Lada pickup truck.
