The secret lies in the new technology, “Presto inside Apple”. Using a tablet device, Apple Store employees will be able to update iPhone software without connecting cables or unpacking.

The system has been in testing since late 2023 and will be available in all US Apple Stores “by early summer.”

This means you will no longer need to manually update your iPhone after purchase; Your smartphone will always have the latest version of iOS when it starts up.

The only question is how it all works. Imagine a metal shoebox. Boxes containing iPhones are placed inside, the system charges them, updates the software and closes the packaging without opening it.
