The new Ryzen 5 APUs are 4-core, 8-thread processors clocked up to 4.2GHz. Ryzen 5 7235H has a TDP of 45W and is suitable for high-end laptops; Ryzen 5 7235HS is a power-efficient option for compact devices.
Interestingly, AMD had previously used the Zen 3+ architecture only on Ryzen 6000 and Ryzen 7035 mobile processors.
The new models are compatible with both desktop and laptop computers. Because they will be used in mid-range mini PCs positioned as desktop platforms.
There is no official information yet about the release date and price, but we expect them soon.
Why has AMD released new products based on Zen 3+ for desktops? There is no definitive information, but perhaps the company wants to expand its mid-range Ryzen APU line or may have decided to use the remaining resources of the Zen 3+ platform.
