Sometimes the delay is a third of a second, sometimes even half a second! As a result, if you are shooting in a dynamic environment such as a crowded place or photographing something that is moving, there is a high risk of missing the right moment.
The author of one review conducted a comparative test of the S24 Ultra against the reference Pixel 8 Pro and noted that on average it was a third of a second slower than a Samsung smartphone. And these are not small things. In practice, such a delay leads to annoying errors when shooting:
Imagine taking photos of your children or pets playing in the park. It will be more difficult to capture perfectly clear shots at the right moment with the Samsung S24 Ultra camera.
Fortunately, there is a solution to the problem. Samsung ships the Camera Assistant module with the Good Lock app. The camera app has a Quick Tap option, which theoretically speeds up image capture.
Testing confirmed that Quick Tap works! In good lighting conditions, the Galaxy S24 Ultra shoots almost as fast as the Pixel 8 Pro. There is a difference in insufficient light and at night, but it is less.
