OpenAI frequently faces lawsuits from writers, artists, and other creative professionals who accuse the company of stealing copyright content to train its neural network and chatbot based on the technology. To avoid this, the publisher struck an “unprecedented deal” with OpenAI: ChatGPT will be trained on news content from major publications such as Politico, Business Insider, Bild and Welt.
This will give publications the opportunity to promote through a new content distribution channel, receiving clicks on links, and the bot will tell users about what is happening in various areas of life using news summaries with reference to specified publications. So the user can ask a question and get a short answer.
In addition, the bot will include articles, names of authors and links to materials, the answers to which are accessible only to subscribers of the publication.
