Telegram will start paying channel authors to show ads

Telegram channel owners will start receiving money for showing ads on their channels. This was announced by the founder of the company, Pavel Durov.

According to Durov, 50% of advertising revenue will be used to pay the channel’s authors. Payments will begin in March and the money will be transferred in the Toncoin cryptocurrency.

It is noteworthy that after Durov’s publication on payments, the price of Toncoin rose by more than 30%.

In March, the Telegram advertising platform will begin operating in 100 new countries, Durov said. According to him, Telegram channels generate around 1 million ad views per month, but the ads are shown on 10% of the channels.

Telegram launched its advertising platform in October 2021. Ads are seen by users who do not have a Telegram Premium subscription.
