Nubank today (4) announced “Verified Calling,” a new security feature that allows you to verify the authenticity of calls coming from the bank this Thursday (4). Innovation is another fintech measure. Protect account holders from criminals abusing fake searches.
The tool is available in the Nubank application. After receiving a call, the customer can open the bank’s application and Display an alert on the home screen to verify the authenticity of the call.
According to Nubank, the function is activated only in case of calls initiated by the company itself or its partners — so it won’t work if the account owner is the caller. Additionally, identification occurs only after the call is answered.
“At Nubank, our customers’ security is a top priority and we are always looking for innovative ways to improve our protection measures,” said Fabiola Marchiori, Nubank’s vice president of engineering and general manager of anti-fraud. “The news reinforces our commitment to using technology to combat and prevent new threats,” she continued.
Nubank’s Verified Call is part of the awareness campaign against “Fake Center Scams”. Criminals are adopting the strategy of posing as a so-called fintech officer to steal sensitive user data such as card information or bank credentials.
Phased distribution
According to Nubank, the new feature will be available to more than 90 million people starting this Thursday (4). This feature will arrive as an update in the next few weeks.
If the news has not reached you yet, it is worth checking whether the application is downloaded in the latest version available in the Play Store or App Store.
