In May 2022, the Novosibirsk studio Cyberia Limited received 260 million rubles in the form of a grant from the ANO Internet Development Institute for the creation of Troubles. In February 2023, this organization allocated another 260 million rubles for development.
The plot of “The Time of Troubles” is based on the events of the “Time of Troubles” at the beginning of the 17th century. The game is presented in the Action-RPG genre from a third-person perspective.
According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, the developer of Smuta, Cyberia Nova LLC, at the end of 2023 received revenues worth 330 million rubles with a net loss of 11.1 million rubles.
