Kommersant reports, citing data from the Federal Customs Service, that in 2023 the number of imported basic elements and components for them increased by 56% in money and by 15% in numbers in 2022.

Basically, equipment is imported from Huawei, Ericsson and Nokia. The customs service did not publicize this information in any way, and Ericsson stated that they suspended deliveries to the Russian Federation in March 2022.

The growth in imports in monetary terms is explained by the fact that operators switched to purchasing in a “retail format”:

Previously, there were long contracts and large volumes. Now even retained iron is noticeably more expensive than new iron used to be.

Beeline, MTS and Tele2 did not comment. MegaFon stated that it has a sufficient supply of equipment, including base stations. [Коммерсантъ]
