Somehow I missed the moment when the title of a serious middle peasant in the world of smartphones goes to a model with a 6.8-inch diagonal AMOLED screen with a frequency of 120 Hz, complete 70 W fast charging and moisture protection.
On paper, the hero of our review Infinix Note 40 Pro should be a full-fledged flagship, but its price of just over 30,000 rubles says otherwise.
We came to the capital of sunny Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, for the presentation of the smartphone. Considering the characteristics and price, it was interesting to touch the smartphone live and draw your own conclusions. And at the same time, of course, shoot a colorful area, testing the capabilities of the base module with 108 MP capability and optical stabilization.
Having played with the model enough, the reason for the powerful characteristics at the low price became generally obvious to me. There are no tricks or false statements here, everything is actually honest – it’s just that such releases come out once every few years. But I’ll tell you why this happened at the end.
First, with the characteristics and configurations, then evaluate the scale.
I haven’t seen such configurations for a long time
The Infinix Note 40 Pro is a mid-range model with superior specifications and flagship elegance. It is powered by MediaTek Helio G99 Ultimate, has a huge unforgettable OLED screen with true black color and 120 Hz voltage, a 5000 mAh battery with wireless wired support and wireless charging and stereo sound.

But besides this there is another strong detail. The Infinix Note 40 Pro comes with a lot of bonuses that would be worth as much as the smartphone itself, it seems to me.
When purchasing a model you get:
- Infinix Note 40 Pro itself
- Case with magnets for charging
- Screen Protector
- USB-A to USB-C cable
- 70 W power supply.
20 W wireless magnetic charging and a 3000 mAh wireless battery are also available for purchase separately.
The accessories, like the smartphone itself, are made of pleasant materials, do not play, do not creak, and do not resemble trinkets from AliExpress. The company paid a lot of attention to charging at presentations and in all its press releases, and this was reflected in the products.
Therefore, in the review we will begin from this moment.
Battery and charging observe different scenarios
The killer features of this smartphone are the battery and charging. Despite its thickness (we’ll talk about the design in a moment), the Infinix Note 40 Pro packs a 5,000mAh battery with up to 70W fast charging.
During charging, you can choose one of three modes: low temperature, smart or high-speed. The first allows you to heat the smartphone 5 degrees less, the second allows you to charge up to 50% in 20 minutes, the third in just 16 minutes.
The kit also includes a case with magnets for connecting wireless power, which allows you to charge your smartphone with up to 15 W with the new Qi2 standard and up to 20 W with Infinix charging (sold separately).
The smartphone supports reverse charging, which is rare even in expensive models. You can power your headphones or another smartphone without any problems, both wired and wireless.
Power management is handled by a custom Cheetah X1 processor developed internally by Infinix. According to the company, compared to standard solutions, this chip analyzes incoming current and modulates voltage twice as fast.
In addition, Infinix claims that the battery uses a specially formulated cell that is designed to last 1,600 cycles without loss of performance in a single day.
Well, for our region, charging at temperatures down to -20°C will be relevant, the possibility of which was specially taken into account during development.
There is an unusual feature Bypass charging 2.0. When the smartphone is charging and you are playing or watching a video on it, the energy from the port bypasses the battery and goes directly to the processor. This solves two issues at once: main heating and preserving battery reserves. If desired, the request can be disabled.
Compact and very memorable for its diagonal size
Infinix Note 40 Pro with this 6.78-inch screen has a very thin frame. This allows it to fit comfortably in the hand, especially taking into account the rounded edges and the small thickness for modern models of 7.75 mm.
Here it is also worth considering the weight of 190 grams, which is quite rare for models of such diagonals. All these factors, in principle, make it possible to understand why a smartphone is convenient to use in its form factor.
There are two models of colors: titanium gold with textured mother-of-pearl glass and vintage green with eco-leather back. I promise to look expensive and impressive, there is absolutely no “basicness” in them.

The gold flash ring has a secret. Its central part is illuminated by a generated LED indicator. It lights up during calling, charging, music playback, effects and other effects.
Even taking into account the fact that this is not a flagship, the resolution is solid. This is not just FHD+, almost 2.5K screen with parameters of 2436×1080 pixels. Taking into account AMOLED technology, which means there are true blacks and rich colors.
Brightness reaches up to 1300 nits in DRE (Dark Region Enhancement) mode, which gives the whole thing royal smooth animation with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. I have never seen a better performance in this class, there’s even a always-on screen.
The camera is filmed at 3x zoom without loss

3x zoom

Something in the design still reminds us that this is a mid-price smartphone. Of the three cameras, you will only look at one, but which one.
It features a 108MP Sony sensor, the same size as the iPhone 13 Pro Max, and a bright F/1.75 lens with a viewing angle similar to a 24mm lens, which provides noticeable natural blur when shooting portraits.
Considering the number of megapixels, the smartphone can shoot at three times the speed with absolutely no loss of optical qualityand if desired, even a 6x zoom allows you to get a 12 MP photo, although here it will already be noticeable that the sensor size does not reach the quality without loss of detail.
Video can be developed up to 2K at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps. There is support for different modes, including right in the hall you can launch a template to quickly create a mini-movie. You just make a video, and your smartphone automatically assembles them into an interesting montage. Just right for the occasion.
Figured out why it’s so generous
Infinix Note 40 Pro According to all the laws of the market, the smartphone is wrong, because it sharply raises the quality bar for all models in this sense to 35,000 rubles.
But there is no secret or cunning in its release. Infinix has been releasing budget models for several years, and if previously only very cheap options came to Russia, because it was necessary to gain a foothold and gain a critical mass of buyers, then the next logical step would be to increase quality in the eyes of users without a sharp blow to the pocket.
I’m guessing that the Infinix Note 40 Pro with its powerful efficiency and low price has made it such an adversary before the company is likely to take the next step and start entering the higher-end segment.
Therefore, I would not look for pitfalls in the proposed standards and boldly chose the model while I had the chance.
At the end of the finale, where else will you find complete a case with magnets, support for wireless charging up to 20 W, a huge and memorable AMOLED screen with a frequency of 120 Hz, stereo sound, premium design, a 108-megapixel panel and an in-display fingerprint scanner for that kind of money? This has never happened before the Infinix Note 40 Pro.
