The guide recommends 4 key components of an effective request:
- Persona: Who you are in relation to the role (e.g. sales manager).
- Task: What the AI needs to do (write, summarize, change tone, etc.).
- Context: Provide as much detail as possible. Link to existing Google Drive documents using the @ menu.
- Format: bulleted lists, summaries, character limits, etc.
Google recommends writing queries in natural language using full sentences. There’s no need to include all four components at once, but it’s important to be concise and avoid jargon.
The query may need to be repeated and refined several times to get the desired result.
Google attaches particular importance to establishing a “dialogue” with artificial intelligence during its work. Research has shown that the most successful queries contain an average of 21 words.
