Moscow’s Basmanny Court extended the detention of Alexander Kim and Nikita Dubas until July 21. This was reported to RB.RU by Olga Nazarova, press secretary of the court.
The founder of Sputnik8, Alexander Kim, and one of the organizers of the excursions, Nikita Dubas, were detained in August 2023. Since then they have been in a pre-trial detention center and their detention period has been repeatedly extended. Kim and Dubas are charged under an article of the criminal code with providing services that do not meet safety requirements.
On August 20, 2023, a group of eight people took a tour of underground Moscow. They found this offer on the Sputnik8 service. As the group descended underground, a heavy downpour began outside. As a result, closed sewers flooded with water and people trapped in them drowned.
Previously, the business community released an open letter in support of the CEO of the excursion search and booking service Sputnik8, Alexander Kim.
