Svyaznoy issued a rebuttal to recent media articles about the start of equipment imports to Russia as part of parallel imports. The company stated that it is not an importer and receives merchandise through the purchase of stock.
Svyaznoy's press service reported that the company does not import equipment into Russia. Svyaznoy buys products only from distributors and suppliers in Russia.
The day before, information appeared in the media, citing a representative of Svyaznoy, that the company was engaged in parallel imports and began transporting electronic products to Russia. Among the products available were Samsung watches, new line iPhones, PlayStation, Xbox.
It was reported that the equipment imported by parallel import at Svyaznoy would be 10-20% more expensive, the company would give a guarantee for the devices, and Svyaznoy would cover the cost of returning defective products.
On June 23, Ozon announced that it had started selling products from the parallel import list on the market. This includes smartphones, computers, and other electronic devices.
