The CHP said authorities believe the stolen Legos ended up on the black market and may have found their way into “apparently legitimate businesses, swap meets or online.” The recovered loot reportedly includes coveted sets from The Lord of the Rings, such as the iconic Millennium Falcon and Rivendell.

This isn’t the first time Lego has attracted the attention of criminals. In 2021, French and American law enforcement stopped the activities of international Lego theft rings. The appeal of the sets lies in their collectible and resale value.
