Senators of the Federation Council introduced a bill on fines for users of electric scooters to the State Duma.
The amendments provide for fining people for the following violations:
▪️ Drunk ride on an electric scooter and refusal of medical examination: 20-30 thousand rubles
▪️Increasing speed on SIM card: 500-800 rubles for exceeding 5-10 km/h, 2-2.5 thousand rubles for exceeding 10-15 km/h, 3-3.5 thousand rubles for speeding by 15-20 km/h, 4-5 thousand rubles for speeding over 20 km/h
▪️ Transporting several people on one electric scooter: 2-3 thousand rubles
▪️ Transporting children on an electric scooter: 5 thousand rubles
▪️ To travel with SIM on the motorway: 1 thousand rubles
▪️ For leaving the scene of an accident involving SIM: 4-5 thousand rubles
▪️ In case of an accident using a SIM card and causing minor harm to the health of another participant: 2-5 thousand rubles
▪️ In case of an accident involving a SIM card and causing moderate harm to the health of another participant: 10-15 thousand rubles
▪️ To refuse to stop a police officer’s equipment: 500-800 rubles
▪️To ride an electric scooter when violating traffic rules: 2-2.5 thousand rubles
▪️ Riding an electric scooter weighing more than 35 kg on pedestrian paths, sidewalks and pedestrian areas: 3-3.5 thousand rubles
The bill was drafted abruptly following an increase in the number of road accidents involving SIM. In 2022 there were 900 of them, and in 2023 there were already more than 3 thousand. [ТАСС]
