The Yurent service (now MTS Yurent), part of the MTS ecosystem, has imposed 10,819 fines for improper parking and co-driving since the beginning of the electric scooter rental season and identified more than 25 thousand violations in Moscow and St. Petersburg (from of which 20 thousand were in Moscow). In the new season, traffic violations will not only be recorded by city cameras, but also by safety advisors who share kicks.
The company announced that, as part of its internal “Year of the Safe Scooter” strategy, it will increase the number of consultants to 2.5 thousand people in more than 30 cities of presence. The number of consultants may increase as demand increases during the season.
For two or more people riding a scooter, the fine is 800 rubles; for parking in the wrong place – 500 rubles; to transfer the account to another person, including a minor, – instant blocking in the application; to drive a scooter up to 18 years old: account blocking in the application; For other traffic violations a warning will be issued.
After several warnings accumulate, the user’s account will be locked.
Also earlier, MTS Urent took the initiative to impose fines of 100 thousand rubles on users for drunk driving on electric scooters.
- The opening of a new season for electric scooters in Moscow was announced on March 26 by Yandex Go, Whoosh and Yurent. At the same time, the services expanded the fleet of devices and updated the rules for their use. Yurent launched an internal user rating, and Yandex and Whoosh added numbers to scooters so city cameras could record violations.
