Google’s Sunnyvale office was policed by the company’s security team. The strikers were informed that they had been placed on administrative leave and were asked to resign of their own free will.
Employees went on strike over the Nimbus project that Google and Amazon have undertaken with Israel. The research deal is valued at $1.2 billion. As part of this project, Google and Amazon provide a server to the Israeli government and its army.
