My name is Andrey Reduto, I have experience in buying/selling businesses (in 2021 we bought our own contractor to strengthen the business, in 2022, the IT company Avito bought 67% of Haraba). When we made transactions, we for our part did it all on our own and did not involve any consultants, as we simply did not know of their existence.
Several years later, I began to notice in the founder community that there are investment companies that support these types of transactions, namely:
-
They check the level of hygiene and tell you which documents and files need to be prepared, collected, restored or created from scratch;
-
Package your business in a format understandable to the buyer (presentations, tables, financial models and descriptive documents);
-
They then carefully offer you to the market and negotiate for you. Sure you need to connect at key moments, but these guys will take care of all the daily work. Most likely, the price of the transaction will be higher and the tension on both parties will be much lower, since a mediator appears in the transaction who smoothes out the corners, helps negotiate, since he clearly has quantitatively more experience than you. and, perhaps, even more than your buyer strategist.
Therefore, I became interested in studying the market landscape. I spoke with consultants and with their permission I share my little research with you. The table is available here.
