The business potential index of Russians in May 2024 reached 15%; The desire to become an entrepreneur was highest only in December 2021, according to a study by Ifors Research, reviewed by RB.RU.

The researchers note that the rate has remained relatively stable for four years.
When asked if Russians are considering opening their own business next year, in May 2024, 15% responded “yes,” 80% “no,” and another 5% were undecided. In November 2023 there were 13% of those interested, in June 2023 14% and in November 2022 11%.
The desire to become an entrepreneur was highest only in December 2021, when 17% of respondents announced their plans.
Among the different age groups, the highest result of the indicator in May 2024 was recorded in the groups 25 to 34 years old (24%), 35 to 44 years old (32%).
The highest index of business potential is observed in the Central Federal District (24%), the lowest in the Far East (6%). Ifors Research notes that this distribution has remained relatively stable during the four years of the study.
The survey was conducted in April-May 2024 in 85 regions of Russia among 1.6 thousand respondents over 18 years of age, excluding retirees and non-working businessmen. The sampling error does not exceed 3%.
