Telegram announced 17 innovations in Messenger for April 2024: the “My Profile” section appeared, unlimited geolocation streaming, management of reactions in channels, user photos when sending messages and more.

Recommended channels
The search menu now has a “Channels” tab, where you can see all the channels the user is subscribed to. It also contains a list of recommended channels on similar topics.
“My profile”
In the settings you can now find the “My Profile” section; There you can see what the profile looks like to other users and change or add information about yourself.
You can now also pin up to 3 stories to the top of your page.
Birthday
Users can indicate their date of birth in their profile. When one of the user’s contacts has a birthday, a notification will appear above the chat list.
Channel in profile
Channel creators can now add them to their profile page and a preview of the channel’s latest post will appear above the About section.
Names and collectible numbers in the profile.
Owners of collection addresses can now link them to their Telegram accounts or channels. The address list is displayed in the user’s profile.
Additionally, now when you click on a pickup address or anonymous number, you see additional information: when the user purchased it and for what amount.
Indefinite geolocation broadcast
You will be able to transmit your geolocation in real time to a personal or group chat. Callers will see where the user is and can set up an arrival notification.
It is also possible to extend the transmission, even indefinitely, using the new “Until I turn it off” option.
Reaction notification settings
There are new settings that allow you to manage notifications about reactions to messages.
User photos when forwarding messages
Now in forwarded messages, next to the author’s name, you can see their profile photo. Telegram believes that thanks to this change it is easier to understand who the message was forwarded from.
Animated emoji in surveys
Premium users can use animated, custom emoji in surveys.
Moderation of masses in groups.
When moderating groups, administrators will be able to select multiple messages at once and perform multiple moderation actions at the same time.
The new menu allows you to limit the rights of users in a group instead of blocking them completely.
What’s new in the Recent Activity section
In this section, group administrators can view important events that have occurred in the last 48 hours, such as message edits and deletions or official administrator actions.
Manage reactions in channels.
Channel administrators have another way to manage reactions to messages: they can now specify the maximum number of different reactions to a message.
This will allow you to avoid visual noise in the channel and also change the list of available reactions more frequently.
Turn off ad hiding
By default, users with a Telegram Premium subscription do not see ads on their channels. However, advertising can be enabled using the new “Show ads” option.
Open stories in incognito mode
When viewing stories, Premium users can enable incognito mode from a drop-down menu, allowing them to hide recent views and new views for the next 25 minutes.
Quickly switch between themes
You can open the screen and move to the next topic where there are unread messages.
View links quickly in Telegram Desktop
The cross-platform Telegram client for computers now supports quick browsing of websites: pages with all media files can be viewed directly in the application and will load instantly.
Monetization program for content creators
Channel owners will be able to receive a reward of 50% of Telegram revenue for advertising displayed on the channel.
