Lawyers claim Apple’s African supply chain uses “blood minerals” for products such as iPhones and Macs. They demanded the tech giant respond within three weeks.
Apple denies these accusations. The company said that as of December 31, 2023, no direct link between its suppliers and armed groups in Congo had been identified.
The minerals discussed are 3T or 3TG, including tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold. They are most often obtained in situations of armed conflict and human rights violations.
