Roskomnadzor recommended that hosting providers limit the collection of information from Russian sites by foreign bots, including those from Google, OpenAI and Apple. The supervisory service sent them the corresponding letters at the end of April, Kommersant learned.

Experts say the recommendations may become mandatory over time. As a result, this can lead to increased competition for traffic. The post’s interlocutor at a large IT company says that the list of identifiers in the letter is “very long.” He believes that blocking them could affect the “stability of computer systems.”
