It involves the use of what is called the “Wheel of Death”, a famous element of amusement rides and circus shows around the world.

On the Moon, where gravity is six times weaker than Earth’s, astronauts will be able to run inside a large rotating ring that simulates running on a flat surface relative to Earth’s gravity.

The “Wheel of Death” is a large ring placed on its side, which the player must move quickly to avoid falling. It is impossible to do this on Earth without motorized transportation.

However, conditions on the Moon allow a person to perform such maneuvers using only leg strength.

During the experiment, scientists used a 30-foot-diameter “Wheel of Death” to which participants were tied with ropes that simulated the gravity of the moon.

After only 5-8 attempts, both participants were able to successfully run on the inside of the wheel and land safely on the ground.

Measurements of running speed, stride length, and foot impact showed that wheel running conditions were similar to running on Earth. Researchers believe that running a wheel every day on the Moon will help prevent muscle atrophy and bone loss associated with long-term exposure to low gravity.
