In April 2024, Russian companies carried out 147 bond placements with a total value of about 300 billion rubles. This is almost twice as much as in April 2023 and 45% less than in March 2024, writes Kommersant.
VEB.RF (85 billion rubles), Gazprom Capital (40 billion rubles) and Rosselkhozbank (22 billion rubles) significantly contributed to the April bond placement. Also in April, 38 bond issues were carried out, which began in 2023. In 2024, the total amount of 34.2 billion rubles was completed.
The activity of Russian issuers in May may further reduce the volume of placements due to the May holidays, experts say, but in the summer months the number of bond issues will begin to grow.
