Gemini dynamic shortcuts are finally released in Chrome. Now user can start interacting with the artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot from the Omnibox (address bar) makes interaction faster and more intuitive.
The new feature was announced last week but had not been implemented in the browser until then. Web site 9to5Google found the new feature in the stable version of Chrome, which is currently in build 124.
How to use Google Gemini shortcut in Chrome?
HE The Gemini shortcut can be accessed by typing “@gemini” in the address bar. The Omnibox automatically displays the text “Chat with Gemini” (with free translation, “Chat with Gemini”) and provides space for the user to type their request. When you press “Enter”, the page is redirected to the chat with the chatbot, but the command has already been entered.
With the addition of Gemini, Omnibox now has four shortcuts:
- @gemini: Start a conversation with the AI chatbot;
- @guias: starts a search among open tabs;
- @history: opens browsing history;
- @favorites: Open the Favorites folder.
All shortcuts are available in the stable version of the browser, but only on desktop. Additionally, after using the @gemini shortcut a few times, Chrome hides the term “Chat Gemini” and saves screen space by only displaying “Gemini.”
The new feature is being rolled out as server authorization, but only for the latest version of Google Chrome. If this feature has not appeared for you yet, it is worth checking whether your Chrome version 124 is installed.
