The production of computers, electronic and optical products in January-May 2023 increased 21.6% in annual terms. The issue is estimated at 26.2 billion rubles.
This is 78.4% more than in the same period of 2022. This is evidenced by the Rosstat data, Prime writes.
Production of semiconductor devices and their parts in the first five months of 2023 decreased 6% year-on-year to 18.8 million units.
The production of radio and television receivers in the same period decreased by 19.9%, to 1.6 million units.
- Russian retailers may be required to pre-install national operating systems (OS) on computers and laptops supplied to the Russian Federation. The relevant document is currently being developed by the Ministry of Digital Development. Retailers have warned that labor costs for vendors will affect the price of devices for consumers.
- Sales of laptops and personal computers in monetary terms collapsed in the first quarter by 30%. Retailers explained the situation by increasing supplies from Russian and Chinese manufacturers, whose products are cheaper than their Western counterparts.
