Car price indexation Lada will not affect the base models Granta and Vesta, said Avtovaz President Maxim Sokolov. He previously announced an increase in the price of the brand’s cars.

In a conversation with TASS, Sokolov clarified that some models will not be affected by indexing at all. In particular, these are the basic Vesta and Granta. However, Sokolov highlighted the impact of sanctions risks and the complexity of assembly of some models, so the cost of some machines will continue to increase.
As follows from the information on the AvtoVAZ website, a basic Lada Vesta will cost at least 1.2 million rubles. The cost of Lada Granta starts at 700 thousand rubles.
In early April, Sokolov announced that the manufacturer could decide to increase the cost of the cars. At the same time, he promised price increases below the rate of inflation. Sokolov cited sanctions, rising production costs and expanding logistical and financial chains as reasons for the rise in prices.
At the beginning of March, Avtovaz returned airbags for the driver and passenger seats to the Lada Granta. In 2022, the manufacturer began selling the “most affordable” car on the market without airbags or brakes.
