Users of Xiaomi devices may be taking serious security risks. The warning was recently made by app security startup Oversecured. According to researchers, There are around 20 serious flaws that affect all the company’s smartphonesand can allow hackers to access information contained on devices.
These Defects were found in the MIUI interface, mpvp operating system as in HyperOS. Many of them affect the cloud storage service, Xiaomi Cloud, app saves and even the smartphone’s photo and video library.
According to Oversecured, the full fault report was submitted to Xiaomi between April 25-30. But until today The company has not commented on the issue or released an update to fix these issues.
Faults include applications and system settings
It is possible to analyze these malfunctions in the list published by Oversecured. they are not specific to just one set of applications. This is because the report points out problems in the elements of the system itselfLike holes in configurations and even vulnerabilities involving the Xiaomi package in AOSP.
Take a look at some of the main flaws, according to the Oversecured report:
- Security issues involving system privileges;
- Loopholes that could lead to file theft through system privileges;
- Gaps in the transmission system that expose Bluetooth and Wi-Fi data;
- Display of data from Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and phone numbers from the contact book;
- Disclosure of data by GetApps;
- Exposure to data via MIUI Bluetooth;
- Spaces that provide easier access to the Gallery application;
- Gaps that provide easy access to files hosted in Xiaomi Cloud;
- Data disclosure when using Mi Video.
