Reddit user (Mulgoki) reported a minor issue (scratched plastic power connector) on his RTX 4090 ROG STRIX WHITE OC, which works perfectly. On the seller’s advice, they contacted Asus and requested the product be returned. To their surprise, ASUS charged a staggering $3,758 to repair a simple plastic scratch. This attracted attention, given the card’s nearly new condition and high price tag of $2,800.
Additionally, after contacting the service department, Asus determined that the graphics processor was “non-functional” and excluded the damage from warranty service. The media noted that they offered a meager 30 percent discount on the repair, which was “ridiculous” for such a minor fix. Finally, after contacting the company’s CEO, Asus offered to purchase the entire GPU at the original price.
