Express delivery service “Darkstore at Home” will launch a network of “cold” pick-up points (PPOs) in Moscow, with the ability to store and deliver perishable food products. A representative of the company informed RB.RU about this.

The company plans to open 30 such collection points by the end of the year. The amount of the investment in the new Darkstore at Home address was not disclosed.

The new service is expected to allow online stores to expand the geography of delivery of perishable products and optimize logistics costs.

The service will work according to the following algorithm:

  • Darkstore at Home couriers, who have vehicles capable of providing the required temperature conditions, collect the goods and take them to a collection point equipped with a refrigeration system.
  • The merchandise is stored there with subsequent delivery to the final consumer or the possibility of delivery by click.
  • Delivery and collection of goods at the collection point will cost an average of 375 rubles.

The launch is due to the active development of the electronic power segment. According to Data Insight, at the end of 2023, online stores and food delivery services fulfilled 1.5 times more orders than a year earlier, while the increase in the number of orders in the e-commerce market was 41% year-on-year .

  • “Darkstore at Home” is a network of urban mini-warehouses for online retailers with the ability to deliver orders to the end customer within 30 to 60 minutes. The company was founded in 2021 by Kirill Chekanov and Grigory Tareev. He is a resident of Skolkovo.
  • The service allows you to rent warehouse space from 1 rack and directly integrate your own warehouse management system with a B2B client’s website or app via API. This allows customers to manage orders, see what’s left on shelves and choose the most economical delivery method.
  • In October 2023, Darkstore at Home raised 34 million rubles from the venture capital company 2FISH Capitals and a group of private investors IZBA VC. The project budget exceeded 160 million rubles.
  • The main owners of Darkstore at Home are Kirill Chekanov and Grigory Tareev: each owns 35.9% of the company. Another 12.76% is owned by Ast-Holding LLC, 2.99% is owned by co-founder and former CEO of Master Delivery Igor Shiyanov, 2.84% is owned by former top manager of Russian Post and head of the business Alfa digital- Bank Vladimir Urbansky, 2.78% – Alexey Dmitriev, 2.57% – Samolet Plus LLC, 2.23% – Sergey Shershen, 1.28% – Timur Myaldzin, 0.75% – Izba Academy Dark LLC .
