According to reports from iPhone users, iOS 17.5 introduces a new bug that causes read or deleted voicemails to reappear in your phone’s voicemail. Once you updated your devices to the latest version of iOS, the messages would return to notify you as if they were new.
iOS 17.5 was released by Apple earlier this week bringing many new features. But not everything is rosy in the new version of the iPhone operating system: other users have since reported a similar error. iPhone owners reported that old photos deleted years ago reappeared in iCloud after updating their devices.
After upgrading to iOS 17.5 on my Xr device, voice messages that I had previously listened to or deleted reappeared. Before the update I only had one unheard voicemail, but now I have 26. pic.twitter.com/eqx1buJIx0

The current bug with voicemails is expected to affect a much smaller number of users because many of them do not have an active voicemail line. Therefore, the number of such reports is less. In the case of the resurfacing of the photographs, the scope of the failure was much greater. Some users said that files returned to iCloud even after restoring the device to factory defaults.
Older version of iOS had a bug that deleted photos
In the past, there was a bug with photos in iOS, but at that time the iPhone system was deleting users’ files. Fortunately, this flaw has been fixed with the release of iOS 15.0.2.
For now, there is no detailed information about the new problem or whether it is specific to the new version of iOS. The malfunction may also be caused by a specific configuration on the complaining users’ devices.
