Yandex is technically ready to start mass production of messenger robots, but this issue will depend on economic factors, the company told Kommersant.

130 robots are currently being assembled and their production should be completed by the end of the year. The same number of robots is already used.
When the cost of robot delivery is comparable to courier delivery, we will be ready to scale the business, the IT giant said.
The publication’s market interlocutor pointed out that in the case of delivery robots, “a production of 100 units per month will be considered serial.” Manufacturers, in his words, are striving to introduce mass production, even with the goal of “a significant reduction in unit costs, approximately one and a half times.”
Yandex began testing robots for transporting small loads in the fall of 2019. The robot is an autonomous device about half a meter high, capable of traveling along city sidewalks at the speed of a walker.
In April 2020, the Rover robot began delivering documents and packages in Skolkovo.
