Danone first announced its intention to leave the Russian market in October 2022, offering to sell 75% of its assets while retaining the buyback option. However, the sale was postponed due to difficulties in exiting the local market. On March 22, 2024, Danone received the necessary approvals from Russian regulatory authorities for the sale of its basic dairy and plant-based products (EDP) business to Vamin R.

The company has successfully completed this transaction to date and made its official exit from the Russian market.
