Russian markets may be deprived of the benefits of value added tax (VAT). The corresponding bill was drawn up by member of the Russian Federation Council Andrei Kutepov, RIA Novosti writes.

Currently, markets receive tax benefits as companies operating in the field of information technologies, that is, having the status of IT companies. However, such benefits are granted even to those companies whose registered activities do not include IT, the bill’s author noted.

In addition, the senator proposes excluding the market from the number of companies that receive benefits for hiring foreign employees.

On March 20, 2024, the government lifted the moratorium on antitrust inspections of IT companies. The expert explained to RB.RU how this will affect small businesses.
