Microsoft has unveiled an updated Surface Laptop that runs on ARM for the first time.

The base version of the 13.8-inch laptop is equipped with a 10-core Snapdragon X Plus chip, which has a built-in neural processor capable of processing 45 trillion operations per second.

The 15-inch version is equipped with a 12-core Snapdragon X Elite with the same neural engine. This processor can also be installed in a model with a smaller screen diagonal.

At the base, both laptops have 16 GB of RAM, a 256 GB SSD, a 120 Hz screen with Dolby Vision IQ support, two USB-C and one USB-A 3.1 ports, and a 1080p camera.

Microsoft says the new Surface Laptop is 80% faster than the current generation and can run for 22 hours in video mode. Additionally, the Surface Laptop is 58% faster than the M3-powered MacBook Air.

These laptops run Windows 11, which has several new features powered by Copilot AI. Among them, video calls are translated for the first time and a quick search for files in the system is carried out. All operations are performed locally on the device.
