Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator gained new functions powered by generative artificial intelligence this Tuesday (23). The new features come to complete the potential that the technology offers in image editing and content creation.
The first new feature is Photoshop’s “Make Image” feature. Now available to everyone on desktop app or web versionThe new feature, powered by the Firefly Image 3 model, was launched in tests in April and allows you to create images based on text descriptions.
Generative Fill has also been improved: the tool now creates images with more precision and detail than before.
Another new feature on the Illustrator side is Generative Shape Fill. The tool lets you add detailed vectors to shapes from text descriptions. The function is powered by the Firefly Vector modelnow with “text-to-pattern” technology developed during the testing period.
Finally, Illustrator has also gained non-AI-powered tools like Dimension, a facilitator for quoting projects, Mockup, which displays a 3D preview of the design, and Retype, which converts static text into editable images.
The new suite of features is another result of Adobe’s investment in productive technologies. The company has been introducing innovations with models in its category for months, despite being the target of criticism from subscribers.
Some of the Adobe Illustrator plugins will only be available during the trial period, but it won’t be long before they’re available to the general public. In any case, it’s important to keep the app up to date to check out everything new as soon as it’s released.
